Fall Fashion: Texas Edition

Fall is technically here now, but the weather in Texas says otherwise. With that in mind, I have created a realistic look book for how to dress for the season without sweating profusely. I tried to take classic fall styles along with current trends and adapt them for when the low is 50 and the high is 85, and this is what I came up with!

The first necessity in a Texas fall wardrobe is midi skirts with booties. Pictured above are two different styles of the same idea. The image on the left has the warm tones that are constantly seen in the fall. The image on the right is a sweater skirt, which is a more realistic adaptation of the sweater dresses or sweater sets that are trending. The loose fit and the high slit of the skirts make these realistic options to wear on a day out to the farmers market or to dinner with friends this fall.

Another major trend this fall is shackets, but layers can get very warm very fast. The best adaptation of this style is a cropped shacket, worn open with a tank top underneath. This can be dressed up with jeans or dressed down with biker shorts as pictured above.

The final trend we all know and love is sweater vests. Instead of styling them with jeans or pants, try wearing them over oversized dress shirts or shirt dresses to keep your legs cool. This can also be paired with booties to fully embrace fall style.

Wearing these styles around the city with a venti pumpkin cream cold brew in hand makes for the perfect fall day in Texas. Hopefully we get lucky with a cold front this year, but until then, these looks will turn heads while keeping cool and comfortable.
