Spring Break Packing List

Beach Destination

1. Swimsuit (duh): If you’re headed to the beach, you’re going to need a super cute suit, even if you don’t plan on swimming. There are endless styles to choose from, cheeky bikinis and cut out suits to more modest tankinis and classic one-pieces.

2. Caftans: Caftans double as a super chic, trendy dress or an easy, breathable cover-up that you can throw on over a swimsuit.

3. Sandal slides: Beach-appropriate footwear is no longer limited to traditional thong-style sandals. Sandal slides were a hot item last season, and it looks like they’ll still be at the top of every fashionista’s must-have list this spring.

4. Straw tote bag: Natural materials like straw and wicker have been trending in recent seasons. A massive straw tote is the perfect accessory for any beach ensemble, plus it can hold all of your essentials for a day in the sun!

Mountains

1. Puffer Coat: Whether you’re enjoying a day on the slopes or a mountain hike, a sturdy coat is a must! Puffer coats can be styled with edgier pieces like combat boots and chunky jewelry, or with more feminine accessories like a knotted headband and cashmere scarf. A good puffer can be tailored to fit anyone’s personal style!

2. A warm sweater: If you’re headed to a snowy destination, you may want to opt for a thick wool or chunky cable knit sweater. But, if you’re headed to a milder mountain climate, a lighter material like cashmere may be the way to go.

3. Corduroy pants: Maybe it’s just me, but I think corduroy is (or should be!) making a comeback. It’s a perfect material for colder climates that lets you change it up from your go-to denim or black leggings.

4. Boots: Don’t forget those tootsies! Boots are a must for any cold-weather destination. If you’re hittin’ the slopes, you’re probably stuck with ski boots – but that doesn’t mean you can’t spice up your outfit with other cold-weather accessories! If you’re spending your break on solid ground you have more options. Over-the-knee boots are a statement piece that will instantly elevate any outfit, and classic leather or suede booties will keep you warm and give your outfit a classic, girly feel.

Camping/Hiking

1. Hiking boots: Hiking boots don’t have to be a clunky eyesore! Brands like Marc Fisher, Ugg and Timberland offer cute AND practical boots to get you ready for the trails or the gram! They’re a built-in statement piece for any outfit if you style them right.

2. Quater-zip pullover: A quarter-zip is a camping essential that will add a bit of preppy flare to any outfit. They can double as a top or a layering device for those colder climates.

3. Comfortable leggings: In order to lighten your load for those long days on the trail, you want to bring as many versatile pieces as possible. Black leggings are a staple in any wardrobe that you can easily pair with a flannel and tank top for a light, breezy look, or with a heavy coat for those chillier days.

A ‘Staycation’

1. Sweatshirt/sweatpant set: Matching sweatshirt/sweatpant sets have been all the rage lately. They’re the perfect go-to outfit for a staycation where you want to be comfy 24/7, but still look somewhat put together.

2. Slippers: A comfy pair of slippers is the only footwear you’ll need if you’re planning on spending spring break in the comfort of your own home. But just because they’re comfy doesn’t mean they have to be boring or frumpy! Opt for a cute fur- or shearling-lined pair if you’re looking for something that can be worn outside the house as well.

3. A favorite scrunchie: Not only are scrunchies the perfect loungewear accessory, but they’re also less damaging to your hair than traditional elastics! Throw your hair up in a cute top-knot or ponytail and settle in to a week of rest and relaxation!
