Trey Mena

Major: Photojournalism

Classification: Sophomore

Hometown: Newport Beach, CA

Hailing all the way from sunny California, Trey Mena has a knack for keeping things colorful and original. He maintains a style true to himself in a relaxed, authentic way, making him not only stand out but also this week’s So Hot Right Now.

How would you describe your style in three words?

Diverse, different, and unique.

Being surrounded by so many brotherhoods, ATΩ, and the Men’s Basketball team, how do you stand out with style?

I’ve always strived to be different. Do things that other people don’t, including what I’m wearing. Whether that’s wearing Vans and ripped jeans when I’m with the basketball team or wearing Jordan’s and a jacket from Urban Outfitters when I’m with my guys from ATΩ.

If your life were a movie who would you cast to play you?

Bruno Mars.

Who is your biggest fashion influencer?

I don’t look to others for fashion. When it comes to clothes, I pick out whatever catches my eye. Striving to be different for me includes not letting others influence my decisions about what I wear.

Which do you like dressing for more: winter or summer?

I don’t have a preference. Born and raised in CA, I’m more used to summer type outfits year-round; however, I lived in Chicago all last year wearing winter fits from October-April.

Favorite clothing store in Waco?

Style Station.

What’s your favorite go-to piece of clothing?

Either my floral blue shorts made by Chubbies or my CDG converse shoes.

Favorite fashion brand:

Athletic: Nike

Casual: Pacsun

How do you approach color in your wardrobe? More or less?

I love color. Often, I find that my outfits depict my mood, the more color I subconsciously put on the more upbeat I am. Whereas if I’m in all black, I probably don’t want to talk to anyone that day.
