Dawson Cole's Crib

When you step into Dawson Cole’s room, you step into a storybook of his life. His room is inviting and it tells a story. With the best view in Waco and a space so open, this crib is worthy to be shared.

Tell me a little about yourself.

Well, I am from Kansas City, Missouri. I am a sophomore majoring in medical humanities on the pre-med track. My hobbies include studying (ha!), hanging out in coffee shops, and reading.

Where did you find inspiration for your room?

I honestly just picked apart my room from home. My bed is actually the bed I used when I was a little boy. You can still see the dog bites on the frame from when my dog was still a puppy. I just wanted my room to express myself and my experience.

What is your favorite part of the room?

My favorite part has got to be the view. I will never get tired of it. I get to watch the sunset behind the BSB every evening. Also, I love this wall tile that I bought in Jerusalem. It’s from the wall of an Iranian palace, but now I just use it as a coaste

Can you describe your room in four words?

Raw, natural, rustic, and vintage.

How long could you stay in your room before going crazy?

I could stay in here for a while. I haven’t grown tired of it yet. I have to force myself to leave to study at Moody.


What advice would you offer to men decorating a new space?

Don’t try too hard. You don’t want it to seem too eclectic and too pulled together. I just used pieces from my childhood, and I tried to focus on experiences from my life that express who I a
